Copilot code review left a comment suggesting a fix. What is the right way to treat it?
Why A is the answer
Evaluate it like any reviewer's comment, and apply it if it is right
You can apply suggestions in a couple of clicks, but they are proposals. Judge each one as you would a teammate's.
In detail
- Treat it like any reviewer's comment.
- Judge it on its merits, and apply it if it is right.
- Judge each comment on its merits.
Use case
An illustrative scenario, not a real incident.
Copilot code review flags a missing null check. The developer confirms it is real and applies it, and declines another comment that does not fit.

Q{"Is the comment right?"}
Q -->|"Yes"| A0["Apply it"]
Q -->|"No"| A1["Dismiss it with a reason"]Key point: Treat Copilot's comments like any reviewer's.
Why the other options are wrong
- B. Apply every suggestion automatically, because it reviews from many angles
- Copilot can be wrong, so do not apply everything.
- C. Ignore all of them, because a model cannot review code in a useful way
- Many comments are useful, so do not ignore them all.
- D. Delete the comment, and ask a teammate to approve the pull request instead
- Deleting a comment dismisses it without judging it.
